The Burkina Faso government has created specialized court to deal with corruption cases.
A government statement said “The Council (of Ministers) discussed a draft law on the establishment, composition, organization and functioning of specialized judiciary court in the repression of economic and financial crime.”
Transparency International latest report ranks Burkina Faso among the most corrupt countries in the world.
The move is seen by many as the first stern measure newly elected president Roch Kabore has taken to fight the menace.
Under the Compaoré regime,anti graft organizations denounced the mismanagement and misuse of public funds.
In a recent report submitted to President Kabore, it was revealed that more than 821 million CFA francs (1.2 million euros) of public funds disappeared in 2014.
